FEAR is the number one reason that holds you back! Where in your life are you playing small and letting FEAR take over? Are you in a job that you hate and feeling unfulfiled and frightened to move on? Are you in a relationship that you know in your heart is not for you however you’re frightened to end it and take the next step? We become paralysed by FEAR and often don’t move forward as a result, we stay stuck.
Don’t allow FEAR to stick you in the pits
I fondly remember a quote from Erma Bombeck, “If life is a bowl of cherries, why do I feel stuck in the pits?!”
Does this quote resonate with you? If so, could it be fear that’s holding you back from living the life you aspire to.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “The enemy is fear. We think it is hate, but, it is fear.”
It is human nature to become resentful of the current economic gridlock we find ourselves in, but do not let it stop you from reaching your full potential.
Levi’s first global campaign to be recently released in the brand’s 138 year history gave me chills down my spine. Its message is, “Go Forth – Now is our time”.
Our time may be fraught with difficulties, but this is it! There is no other time but now to do what you can, with what you have, where you are… in the words of Theodore Roosevelt.
It’s natural to have some trepidation about approaching something new. The question is; do you move forward and work through it and get over it, or do you stand still and take no action.
In Victor Frankl’s book, “Man’s Search for Meaning”, he says, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
I believe it is dangerous to let our fears and self-doubt take over. This is where our thinking becomes limited about opportunities available to us. We get so fixated on those little things that we lose sight of all the good we gain in the process.
